DPT Program – Hybrid Pathway

The top-ranked USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy offers its Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in an innovative, hybrid format.1 As a student pursuing your DPT degree in the hybrid pathway, you will attend classes and access coursework using our online campus and classrooms, visit USC’s campus for regular in-person immersion experiences and complete clinical experiences in your community or nationwide.

The DPT program features the same renowned faculty and intensive three-year curriculum. Students in the hybrid pathway will be fully immersed in the USC experience and Trojan Family, and ready to excel as evidence-based, compassionate physical therapists and leaders in the physical therapy profession upon graduation.

The Division’s educational mission is to challenge each student to meet their highest potential as a physical therapist and to instill habits of lifelong learning and a commitment to excellence as practitioners.

Why Hybrid Pathway?

Through the hybrid pathway, USC is continuing our mission to enhance the field — and define the future — of physical therapy education. The hybrid pathway of the DPT program provides aspiring practitioners across the nation the opportunity to earn their DPT from the number one ranked USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, without having to relocate to Los Angeles.

By combining the accessibility of online learning with in-person, hands-on immersion experiences at USC and clinical experiences in your community, the hybrid pathway enables you to learn in a student-centered, intimate and innovative atmosphere while keeping you close to your current community.

The online learning component of the program is highly collaborative and engaging. You will build strong relationships with your peers and faculty through extensive face-to-face sessions in your online classes and have the opportunity to reinforce these professional bonds on campus during immersion experiences.
