Aimee Diaz
Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy
In addition to overseeing the year-long Sports Physical Therapy Residency program, Dr. Aimee Diaz teaches in the didactic modules and mentors residents.
She sees patients clinically at USC Physical Therapy and at Keck Hospital of USC’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. She specializes in treating patients with sports-related injuries, orthopedic disorders, postsurgical rehabilitation and functional return to sport. Dr. Diaz also treats women’s health-related disorders. She is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a sports-certified clinical specialist. She is a member of the sports, orthopedic and women’s health sections of the American Physical Therapy Association and is a certified athletic trainer through the Board of Certification.
Dr. Diaz teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the third-year curriculum for the Integrated Management of the Extremities course. She also assists with teaching the pelvic health content in the second-year curriculum. In addition, she provides physical therapy services to East L.A. College, assisting with preseason physicals and weekly injury clinics during football season. She also participates in the weekly injury clinic with USC’s Club Sports through USC Recreational Sports. Along with clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Diaz has been an invited speaker and panelist at local and state conferences.
