DPT@USC provides aspiring practitioners across the nation the opportunity to earn their DPT from top-ranked USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, without having to relocate to Los Angeles.1

We offer one start date per year in June, and applications are reviewed as they are completed.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants to our hybrid program are held to the same admissions standards as our residential program. All candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university to apply.

Applicants to the three-year hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy program must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who currently and will continue to reside in the United States for the entirety of the program.

You must also satisfy all requirements for USC Graduate School admission, which include:

  • Minimum cumulative and science GPAs of 3.0
  • GRE score from the past five years; a minimum score of 150 is strongly preferred on each component
  • At least 150 hours of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting

Prerequisite Courses

Grades of “C” or better are required in all prerequisite courses, outlined below. Prerequisite courses taken on a “pass/no pass” basis will not be recognized, and AP credits will not be accepted in lieu of college-level courses. All courses must be for science or pre-health majors. “Survey-style” courses will not be accepted in fulfillment of prerequisites.

To complete your application for the hybrid DPT program, you must submit the following:

  • Official transcripts
  • Three essays
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • $90 application fee
