Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy
Erica Sigman is an assistant professor of clinical physical therapy and director of the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program at USC. She is also a physical therapist at the faculty practice on the Health Sciences Campus. She specializes in treating patients with headaches, TMJ-related issues, facial pain and weakness, orthopedic disorders and chronic pain.
Dr. Sigman is board certified by the America Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as an orthopedic clinical specialist. She is a member of the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association and serves as chair of the Long Beach South Bay District of the California Physical Therapy Association. She is also a member of the California Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Special Interest Group.
She is a clinical instructor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and a primary faculty mentor in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program. She also assists in teaching physical therapy continuing education courses involving the management of TMJ-related disorders and management of the spine, with an emphasis on the cervical region.
For the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Dr. Sigman is a physical therapy mentor to the physician fellows in the Headache Fellowship. She also serves as a physical therapy mentor for dental residents studying oral medicine with an emphasis on orofacial pain, in the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Recently, she joined the USC Facial Nerve Center and has launched a Facial Nerve Retraining class.
