Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Physical Therapy

Andrew Piraino is an adjunct instructor of clinical physical therapy and a faculty member for the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency. He is board certified as a clinical specialist in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties; a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s orthopedic, sports physical therapy, education and research sections; and a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Dr. Piraino specializes in the treatment of orthopedic conditions across the lifespan. He has been involved in USC’s student mentoring program and extracurricular student groups and teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He has also served as an assistant instructor within USC’s Orthopedic Physical Therapy Boot Camp and has guest-lectured for the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC’s curriculum regarding musculoskeletal disorders. He is currently involved in clinical research to improve the understanding of underlying neurophysiologic mechanisms behind manual therapy interventions and is author of a monograph for the American Physical Therapy Association’s orthopedic section.
